Michael Aram is an award winning American Armenian artist. He is trained in the fine arts as well as an art historian. Michael loves to celebrate age-old hand-crafted traditions and manufacturing techniques. Besides reflections of nature, many of his pieces are ingrained with rich storylines, inherent symbolism, and deep-rooted meanings. His high end functional artwork can be found at stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Bloomingdales.

Michael Aram has very fastidious requirements concerning their flagship store ethos. Which we at Tabletop Alchemist perfectly align with and aim to be a future flagship of his work. We aim to display and sell certain collections of his that reflect the seasons and agriculture that is cultivated on our HvH Specialty Growers flower farm and neighboring agrotourism farms local to the area.

We will not be doing consignments of Michael Aram’s work in the near future, as we do not have the means to authenticate any of his works.

Collection Vision: Spring

Anemone Collection

This collection is inspired by anemone flowers, which in some cultures are said to bring good luck and offer protection. The flowers are associated with purity and peace.

Cherry Blossom Collection

The Cherry Blossom Collection is inspired by the liveliness and vitality of the Japanese flower as it blossoms each Spring. Embodying the ideals of renewal, Michael is captivated by the intricate nature of the flower and the symbolism that it holds. Representing fragility and the beauty of life, the Cherry Blossom Collection combines soft, muted pink tones with golden brass and white marble to add a delicacy that exhibits the pure beauty of nature.

Black Iris Collection

The Black Iris Collection is inspired by the vitality and beauty of the iris flower. Named after the Greek word for rainbow, the idea of a “black rainbow” feels oxymoronic and mysterious. Michael uses contrasting oxidized and polished brass, as his way of doubting the question of whether there is such a thing as an iris which is truly black in nature.

Tulip Collection

The Tulip Collection celebrates rebirth as the ground begins to thaw and new life flourishes. Inspired by the feathery petals of the Parrot Tulip, each petal ripples as if the flower is about to take flight. Symbolic of perfect love, these expressive blooms tell a story of life: of passion, grace, and new beginnings. The Tulip Collection features elaborate sculpts in a modern, lyrical way. The white enamel and gold finish reflects the effect of light and shadow that caress each flower as the world begins to wake.

Collection Vision: Summer

Sunflower and Vincent Collection

The Sunflower Collection captures the radiant beauty and energy of its namesake. It’s hard not to smile looking at sunflowers, with their ridiculously bright and happy faces. Turning towards the sun, as though to remind the rest of us to look towards the light and be forever optimistic.

Olive Branch Collection

The Olive Branch Collection is one of the best known and most loved of Michael's motifs. The simple forms create objects that serve wonderfully as stunning individual gifts or an exuberant table setting that decorates an entire moment of your life. The theme itself captures all the most distinctive aspects of Michael's work - narrative strength, deep symbolism and extraordinary sculptural expression.

Dahlia Collection

The Dahlia Collection captures a sense of romance, intricacy, and opulence. In the Victorian era, Dahlias were given as a symbol of love and devotion. In certain pieces, Michael has chosen to contrast the radiant golden blooms against black granite and enameled stainless steel, evoking a mysterious sensuality. When found in nature, the petals’ perfect symmetry and spiraling pattern embody the Golden Ratio.

Wheat Collection

The Wheat Collection is inspired by the beauty and bounty of the American heartland. For centuries, wheat has been used as a design motif which signifies humility, renewal and sustenance in various cultures around the world. Capturing a sense of abundance with its golden sheaves, it is the perfect collection to grace your table or to gift someone for a special occasion.

Wildflower Collection

The Wildflower Collection is a celebration of often overlooked, disregarded, and underappreciated flowers. The inspiration for Wildflower came from the discovery of a set of 19th century hand-tinted, botanical illustrations which, over time, had faded to muted, dusty tones. Touched by how beautifully each wildflower had been rendered in the antique drawings, Aram took great care to capture and recreate the naturalistic movement and gentle hues in hand-enameled and sculpted metal. Uncultivated by definition, wildflowers, as interpreted by Aram, reflect the ideal of "perfectly imperfect" and capture a sense of carefree innocence in the fleeting joyfulness of nature.

Ocean Reef Collection

The Ocean Reef collection is inspired by the bounty and beauty found on the ocean floor. The ocean is symbolic of freedom and limitlessness, and coral represents renewal and strength. Coral reefs are also associated with healing, transformation, and refuge in the face of change.

Note from Tabletop Alchemist: We wish to honor and spread the word of the aquacultural efforts in near by Tomales Bay by having this collection join us.

Baccarat-logo.png

THE ALCHEMY OF JOY. In 1764, in eastern France, a group of daring craftsmen set out to transform the four elements of nature – earth, air, fire and water – into glass of absolute quality. In 1816, they perfected their well-kept secret formula to obtain a crystal of unparalleled purity.

In 1855, for the first World Fair in Paris, Baccarat unveiled its unique craftsmanship to the world. Exhibited to the delight of fascinated visitors, Baccarat’s dazzling creations have made the exceptional a reality.

Years later, by crafting a temple in homage to the god Mercury, and later an epic crystal ship, Baccarat continued to elicit surprise, and garner numerous medals at each major national and international Exhibition.

From the custom furniture made for the Maharajahs of India to the majestic "Tsar's” candelabra created for Nicholas II, the impressive collection of lighting fixtures for the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, the pieces commissioned by Napoleon III for his apartments in the Louvre and Tuileries, the refined creations for the Japanese imperial court, to the Juvisy service that has adorned the ceremonial tables of the Elysée Palace since 1899, Baccarat has cast its light around the world.

Its name alone is an invitation to wonderment. Enchanting festivities and elegant receptions, Baccarat has won over the elite.

From Josephine Baker to the Princess of Monaco, Marilyn Monroe to Karl Lagerfeld, and Kris Jenner to Gigi Hadid, Baccarat has transcended fashion, seducing the lovers of life and opinion leaders of every generation. At the forefront of style, the House draws inspiration from its heritage to shape the tastes of tomorrow.

Salvador Dali, Ettore Sottsass, Philippe Starck, Jaime Hayon, Marcel Wanders, and Virgil Abloh – the world’s iconic artists and designers have also succumbed to the temptation of Baccarat. Through unprecedented collaborations, each has imparted a unique artistic vision, constantly pushing the limits of technique, often defying the laws of matter. The absolute complicity between the artists and craftsmen has resulted in original, soulful creations rich in imagination.

From its award-winning pieces at the World Fairs to its most contemporary collections, Baccarat’s craftsmanship constitutes an extraordinary heritage.

The fire of passion never went out and will burn forever.

Collection Vision: Fall and Winter

Autumnal Collection

The Autumnal Collection captures the excitement of the changing seasons and the anticipation of holiday celebrations. These pieces promise to brighten and warm your home as the nights grow colder and the days grow shorter. Age-old handicraft techniques ensure that each piece is unique and captures the perfectly imperfect gestures inherent in objects made by hand. Each falling leaf, speckled pumpkin, and twisted stem becomes a metaphor for life itself and acts as a reminder of the passage of time and the ephemeral beauty of life.

Michael Aram Autumnal Collection_edited.jpg

Vine Collection

The Vine Collection takes its inspiration from the imagery that floats around classic storytelling. The shapes are obvious and immediate and, at the same time, impressionistic and lyrical - the way a small child might imagine the scenes in a story he’s being told.

“These vines conjure up images of the overgrown entrance to an enchanted forest. The window to a world of fantasy flora and unexpected beauty.” ~ M.

Michael Aram Vine Collection_edited.jpg

Mushroom Collection

The Mushroom Collection is inspired by the whimsical magic of fairy tales. Humbly emerging from the earth, these fungi have been known for thousands of years to contain mystical powers. They have been used by shamans from cultures all over the world to procure enlightenment and celebrate the deep interconnectedness of life. Michael’s iconic Butterfly Ginkgo is perched upon each piece, further tying in the notion of metamorphosis and transcendent experiences.

Mistletoe Collection

The Mistletoe Collection captures the spirit of the holiday season. Mistletoe, an evergreen that flourishes year-round, evokes the idea of renewal, vitality, and romance. In creating the collection, Michael was inspired by his love of nature, and fond memories of family celebrations spent around a beautifully set holiday table. Both personal and symbolic, this collection celebrates the beauty of nature and the importance of crafting memories to last generations.

Pinecone Collection

The Pine Cone Collection, with its antique gold and darkened bronze patinas, celebrates the glow and warmth of the holiday season. Inspired by a fallen pinecone kept on his desk, Aram has always been intrigued by pinecones and their ancient symbolism. The Greeks and Romans, as well as other cultures throughout history, have incorporated pinecones in their art, religious beliefs and mythology with common themes of regeneration, wisdom, and renewal.
